Chaminade College is named after Father William Joseph Chaminade, who lived during the French Revolution and founded the religious order known as the Society of Mary. Marianist education of the school is based on five doctrines: educating for formation in faith; providing an integral and quality education; educating for service, justice, peace, and the integrity of creation; educating in family spirit; educating for adaptation and change. Each student belongs to one of the five houses that are named after the prominent Marianists: Gray, Mauclerc, Meyer, Lamourous, and O’Donnell.

School’s Facilities

While Juergens Hall is a school gym, the Athletictron is the athletic center of Chaminade College. It includes a basketball court, a swimming pool, eight tennis courts, a football stadium, two multi-purpose practice fields, and other facilities. During the study, international students can choose one of the 60 teams in 18 sports.

Chaminade College also has 25 clubs for its middle school and high school international students. One of the most popular clubs is the CSPN, which broadcasts sporting events and other activities online. Students participate in the CSPN as cameramen, commentators, analysts, and tech crew.

Chaminade College offers a modern, academically challenging curriculum taught by talented faculty with advanced degrees in the subjects they teach. Apart from the core disciplines, the middle school academic program offers intensive writing courses, advanced mathematics, STEM, and a fine arts program. The middle school program also develops pre-Advanced Placement (AP) skills, such as reasoning and critical thinking, that allow students access to the AP classes in high school.

The high school curriculum of Chaminade College is designed to prepare students for a successful college experience. Honors courses are available for students who demonstrate a high degree of achievement in a particular subject area. Moreover, Chaminade College offers over 100 Advanced College Credits and Advanced Placement Courses through the PACE Program. It allows students to earn above 60 college credits and transfer to their chosen university upon graduation.

Advanced College Credit courses are taught in affiliation with St. Louis University, the University of Missouri, and the Missouri Baptist University. Professors of Chaminade College are qualified to maintain college and university standards. The Advanced Placement Courses are the equivalent of regular college courses, which are offered for students from Grade 10.

Chaminade College also offers numerous English as a Second Language (ESL) courses for all international students to improve their verbal, reading, listening, and speaking skills.

Admission Requirements

High school applications are due December 7, while middle school applications are due January 31. International students who wish to study at Chaminade College must complete several steps.

  1. Parents of prospective students need to create an account in a Parent Portal.
  2. They ought to submit official copies of the student’s academic transcripts for the current grading period and transcripts from the previous two academic years. Parents also should include a copy of the grading scale. All documents must be translated into English.
  3. International students are required to submit an English language test score, such as TOEFL Junior, IELTS, Duolingo English Test, or iTEP SLATE. However, students who wish to pass an InitialView interview may not need to provide English language testing results. An InitialView interview is an informal conversation conducted by trained interviewers.
  4. Parents need to pay the non-refundable application fee of $150.

  6. Parents ought to sign and submit the Transcript Release to the son’s current school. The current school must send official transcripts, test results, and information from the past three years of the prospective international student to Chaminade College.
